“It’s confirmation that determination, commitment and a clear vision can lead you wherever you want to be.”
Master of Business Administration (MBA) graduate
Liberty says he is more confident and in a better position in his career as a result of his Roehampton Online MBA. Originally from Zimbabwe and having worked in management roles within mining companies around Africa for over 10 years, he set his sights on an MBA so he could “speak the language of business.”
It did not take him long to see the impact of his online learning. “The curriculum and syllabus were actually real and they helped me solve real-world business problems,” he said. “I find myself today in a better position.”
At the start of his MBA, Liberty was working with one department but quickly earned two promotions during his study. He now oversees more than 3,500 staff as Senior Production Coordinator at Glencore Copper in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Graduating with a distinction, he says the programme didn’t just give him skills but also a voice. It has increased his confidence, his ability to support his organisation to run projects more strategically and he now views problems as business opportunities.
A huge personality, Liberty was a well-known voice in the online classroom where he says he learnt a lot about the different cultural approaches to problem solving, as well as some fundamental skills. “I learnt something about listening, when you listen attentively to what someone is saying you get an intelligent insight.”
Not passing up the opportunity to come to London to graduate and meet his peers, he says the positive change his bosses see in him today is because he is standing on top of a giant he calls Roehampton Online.
More than 90% of students believe their degree will be valuable or very valuable to their careers after graduation*
