Growing up in Trinidad, Fiona was incredibly close to her dad, a mechanical engineer, and father of four girls. He taught her to how to sail, fish, fix tyres, row a dingy, and even how to make the best lobster pots. But most importantly, he taught her to respect everyone she met, regardless of where they came from.
She quickly learnt that nothing was out of her reach when she put her mind to it. Fast-forward 20 years and the seventh-generation Trinidadian is now a proud mother of three and HR Manager for a forward-thinking environmentally friendly energy company.
Learning is everything for Fiona, and the lessons taught by her father have stayed with her. Inspired by those who achieve their full potential, and give back to their community and country, she is now putting her energy and attention into developing the strategic thinking and thought-leadership skills needed to effect positive change within her organisation.
As HR policy evolves to suit a dynamic global economy, Roehampton Online continues to give Fiona the knowledge, guidance and feedback she needs to better her current working practices and, as a result, the lives of others.
Steeped in tradition, Roehampton’s goal is to develop graduates who are informed, critical thinkers, capable of making a positive impact on society with the desire to continue their ongoing passion for learning.
Fiona is someone whom others come to for advice and she hopes that will always be the case.
