London – 1 February 2016 – “We live learning”, the new campaign by the University of Roehampton, London Online, illustrates the belief that learning can be life-changing by applying what is learned.
A top modern university in London, Roehampton has a rich heritage of expanding access to education that stems from its four founding colleges, all of which were established in the 19th century. This history of inclusivity and enabling people from all backgrounds to access quality higher education continues with the inclusion of the growing online community. From varied backgrounds and different nationalities, they are united by a desire to learn and improve themselves and the world around them.
“Learning is a life-changing and lifelong journey, where you use, share and apply what is learned to make your own future brighter and to improve the lives of others. Our students do this through online debate with one another, exchanging new ideas and incorporating different world views into their own lives,” said Professor Clare Pickles, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Roehampton Online. “We empower our students to create a brighter future by enabling them to pursue their personal and professional goals.”
By featuring stories that offer snapshots of students’ lives and how they live learning − wherever they may be – “We live learning” inspires adult learners to reimagine the way they can help change lives, transform careers and shape communities through the power of education. Students and the public are encouraged to share how they live learning by posting stories, photos and videos using #iLiveLearning on social media.
“It’s been my objective to eventually become a leader, not only as a businesswoman, but in my community and my country, and I can only do this by developing myself,” said Folakemi Abraham, online Master of Business Administration student.
The University of Roehampton, London Online offers a learning model that delivers contemporary online programmes reflecting the world in which its students live and work.
