Zakiya is a dynamic learner and educator with more than 17 years of experience teaching Accounting and Finance at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is a Finance faculty member and course coordinator at a renowned institution in the Middle East, where she founded a business club and leads student activities for the whole Business department.
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, she is well versed in entrepreneurship, and she has helped aspiring entrepreneurs launch SMEs. She provides consultation and guidance in launching and hosting successful businesses. She is in charge of the finance and costing department of her family business and enjoys this aspect of her life very much. She has been associated with the Laureate universities since 2010 in capacities including honorary lecturer, dissertation advisor, critical reader and module moderator. Her philosophy is that education empowers learners to enhance the quality of life.
