Professor Paul O’Prey took up his post as the Vice-Chancellor of Roehampton University on 1 September 2004.
Professor O’Prey makes a major national contribution to developing Higher Education strategy and policy. He has been elected three consecutive times to the Board of Universities UK (UUK). He also serves as Chair of the UUK Longer Term Strategy Network. He has served on Sport England’s Higher Education Stakeholder Group since 2008, championing the role of sport in widening participation.
Professor O’Prey is an internationally renowned expert on the literature of the First World War. He co-founded the War Poets Association in 2004, and led it as president until 2014. He supports the Imperial War Museum as a member of the Council of Friends and is on the Editorial Board of their journal, Despatches.
