Dr Vlachopoulos is Assistant Professor and Director of the Distance Education Unit at the European University Cyprus (Laureate International Universities). He has worked as full-time faculty at the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, whilst working as Visiting Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley. He has worked in online education since 2004, and in addition to teaching at the University of Roehampton Online, London, he has taught at the University of Liverpool, the Open University of Catalonia and the Open University of Cyprus. He currently consults in the field of e-learning, with a special interest in the ways in which technology provides a scaffold for online teaching and learning in higher education. He lives in Nicosia, Cyprus.
