Dame Jacqueline Wilson, who has been Chancellor of Roehampton since 2014, is one of the most successful children’s authors in the world. Her books for children have sold over 20 million copies in the UK and have been published in almost 40 countries.
In 2004 she became the most borrowed author from libraries across the UK, an accolade she held for four consecutive years. They have been adapted for stage and television, including The Story of Tracy Beaker on the BBC and The Illustrated Mum on Channel 4 (which was awarded an EMMY and two BAFTAs).
Dame Jacqueline has been on countless shortlists and has won many awards. From 2005 to 2007 she was the Children’s Laureate. Dame Jacqueline currently teaches in the Department of English and Creative Writing at Roehampton.
