After his postdoc at the Centre for Critical Psychology at the University of Western Sydney in Australia, Dr Hofmeister worked for nine years at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences in Germany, as Replacement Professor for European Policy and Health (amongst other roles). He collaborated on many EU projects in Public Health, including health inequalities, organisational development, e-learning, curriculum development. Since 2011 he has worked as a freelance consultant and lecturer in Public Health. Currently he teaches on nine different BA, MPH and PhD programmes at eight international universities. His consultancy focuses on organisational development and evaluation of public health services as well as the design of online programmes.
“I am excited to be teaching with the University of Roehampton Online because the MPH programme has an innovative approach to e-learning. It enables students to be supported through their learning process by formative feedback throughout the module. The students in this programme are amazing. They intend to make a difference in Public Health. The rather ‘applied’ approach, combined with a reflexive learning strategy, is an exquisite framework to support the training [for the students] to become reflective practitioners who bring together the science (evidence) and art (practice) of public health.”
